Kimpton's Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh Launches “Warrior Wedding” Giveaway For One Deserving Military Couple To Win A Winter Wedding

The holidays are about dreams coming true, and this season Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is setting out to do just that for those who deserve it the most. The Downtown boutique hotel partners with event planner extraordinaire Bonnie Walker of Bonnie Walker Events, along with Erin Cermak of Revolution Events and Gary Racan and the Studio-E Band of Studio-E Entertainment, and the Harry Panos Fund for Veterans to award one deserving military couple with an incredible winter wedding.

The collaborative “Warrior Wedding” giveaway campaign launches today, August 11, and is open to all veteran couples with a connection to the Steel City. By simply submitting their love story, couples will be entered for a chance to be selected as the recipients of an all-expenses paid wedding for 100 guests in the Monaco’s spectacular Sheffield Ballroom on December 13.

“At the Hotel Monaco, we initiated our ‘Random Acts of Kimpton Kindness’ campaign in our local community before we even opened our doors this past January,” said general manager Rob Mallinger. “As a Kimpton hotel, we recognize that a simple smile or a thank you is able to transform a person’s day. With our ‘Warrior Wedding’ giveaway, we’re turning that concept up full throttle. When we thought about our community members most deserving of a ‘thank you,’ the men and women of the U.S. military stood out most clearly. No one puts more of themselves on the line and in harm’s way so selflessly, and we really wanted to do something to recognize that.” All veteran couples who hold Pittsburgh dear in the hearts, whether it be one of their hometowns, a previous or current station or the like, are invited to visit www.monaco-pittsburgh.com/weddingvenues/warrior-wedding/ beginning today through August 31 to enter the “Warrior Wedding” giveaway.

Of all who enter, three will be selected as finalists, as decided by a campaign committee made up of individuals from the three presenting parties. The three finalists’ stories will be shared with the world on Hotel Monaco’s Facebook Page on September 4. From then until September 10, the public is invited to vote for the story that touches their heart the most. On September 11, the couple with the most “likes” to their story will be announced during the Warriors Rock Concert at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Pittsburgh; shedding light and happiness on a day that is oft mourned. From there, the winning couple will meet with both Hotel Monaco and Bonnie Walker herself to begin planning the wedding of their dreams. “My business partner at Studio-E Entertainment, Kim Racan, and I had the idea of a veteran wedding giveaway in our heads for quite some time,” said event designer and planner Bonnie Walker. “Thanks to the generous support of the Harry Panos Fund for Veterans, Hotel  Monaco and the numerous local boutiques and high-caliber vendors donating their time and services, our dream will become a reality, and we’ll be able to do what we do best, create the experience of a lifetime for two incredibly deserving individuals.”

The “Warrior Wedding” giveaway is a collaborative effort of Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh, the Harry Panos Fund for Veterans and Bonnie Walker Events. The winning couple will receive a five-hour wedding ceremony and reception for themselves and 100 guests at Hotel Monaco complete with an exquisite food and beverage experience from The Commoner, entertainment from Gary Racan and the Studio-E Band of Studio-E Entertainment and photo and video from famed Suzanne Delawar Studios, along with all of the necessary nuptial planning and details that come with their special day. The firstand second-place runner-ups, as identified on September 11 with the announcement of the winning couple, will not be left empty-handed. The hotel will donate two VIP experiences at the Monaco to the runners up, and local furnishings retailer Levin Furniture will also donate prizes for the top three finalists.

Of all those who vote during the finalist voting period, three will be chosen at random to win participation prizes, including overnight stays at the hotel.
