  • Dominican Republic Ranks First in Caribbean Tourism Quality | Dominican Republic took the number one spot on the 2016 Caribbean Tourism Quality Index, compiled by Resonance

  • Tourists 50 and Older Flocking to Dominican Republic | Between January and May this year, tourists age 50+ made up 34.1 percent of tourists visiting the country, representing an 18.3 percent increase in 50+ visitors to the country over last year. The 50+ group was narrowly surpassed by visitors in the 21-to-35 age range, who represented 34.2 percent of total tourists visiting between January and May.

  • Restoration Plans for Historic Route Around Santo Domingo’s Colonial City | The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) presented a master plan to renovate and preserve the touristic route surrounding the Colonial City, a historic pocket located within the capital of Santo Domingo. Improvements will include the restoration and preservation of the historic wall that runs through the city, connecting it to the city’s touristic route and allowing visitors to see how the city operated during the colonial era. 

  • Punta Cana Resort to Become Adults-Only | The Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda Don Pablo Collection hotel in Punta Cana will become an adults-only facility effective January 2017.
