The 8 Pristine Beaches In Nayarit That You Should Discover This Summer
Nayarit, located on the Mexican Pacific coast, has become a dream destination for travelers who love fun in the sun. This state offers some of the most spectacular beaches in all of Mexico. Let us introduce you to eight must-visit beaches in sun-drenched Nayarit:
Novillero
Playa Novillero, located on the Riviera Nayarit coast, is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is the longest beach in Mexico and the second-longest in Latin America, stretching nearly 90 kilometers (some 56 miles). Visitors can walk up to 100 meters (328 feet) offshore with a depth not exceeding 1.5 meters (4.9 feet). Novillero’s safe waves make it an ideal destination where families, children, and inexperienced swimmers all can enjoy calm and warm waters. The vast expanse of Novillero also invites visitors to witness breathtaking sunsets.
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
With its 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) stretch of sand, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is a paradise for seashore lovers. Here, you can enjoy a wide range of water-based activities, such as snorkeling, diving, surfing, and — thanks to an abundance of species like tuna, marlin, and dorado — exciting deep-sea fishing. After your maritime adventures, indulge in delicious dishes made from freshly caught fish and seafood — a culinary tradition in this town for more than 50 years.
This charming fishing village has skillfully blended tradition with modernity, all thanks to the presence of Marina Riviera Nayarit — the largest marina on the Mexican Pacific coast. The marina offers comprehensive services for boats and a variety of facilities, including a yacht club, a sky bar, and a seafood market.
Rincón de Guayabitos
A hidden treasure on the Riviera Nayarit, Rincón de Guayabitos is mostly visited for its golden sands, crystal-clear waters, and a wide range of activities. This 2-kilometer (1.2-mile) beach in the Bay of Jaltemba, Compostela, offers year-round tropical weather, making it perfect for surfing, boat rides, birdwatching, and observing sea turtle nesting sites.
In addition, Guayabitos hosts special events such as Vocho Fest, the Artistic and Cultural Festival, and the International Powered Paragliding Festival.
Its fresh seafood cuisine and vibrant nightlife ensure an unforgettable experience for all visitors.
Nayarit Cuisine: Sea, Land, and Milpa
Litibú
Located in the Riviera Nayarit, Litibú seamlessly combines luxury and nature. This exclusive destination stands out for its high-end resorts and a world-class 18-hole golf course designed by renowned golfer Greg Norman. Visitors can enjoy horseback rides along the beach, explore natural trails, and spot whales during certain times of the year.
Surrounded by majestic mountains, Litibú will make you feel like you’re on a deserted island — a true oasis surrounded by the grandeur of the sea. You won’t want to miss its breathtaking landscapes and the opportunity to enjoy its unique natural beauty.
Sayulita
Nayarit’s Pueblo Mágico, or “Magical Town,” is a destination that uniquely combines virgin beaches, lush jungle, and vibrant artistic and cultural scenes. It is the heart of surfing in Mexico, attracting surfboarders from all over the world with its perfect waves and subtropical climate.
In addition to its natural attractions, Sayulita offers an exceptional culinary experience, with a variety of options ranging from small eateries and cafes selling delicious traditional dishes to elegant, beachfront restaurants dishing outworld-class cuisine.
The town has a wide range of accommodation options, ranging from sophisticated boutique hotels to comfortable, family-friendly bungalows. Its colorful streets and relaxed atmosphere make this an irresistible destination for travelers.
Punta de Mita
Located on a peninsula with almost 10 kilometers (some 6.2 miles) of virgin beaches and green hills, Punta de Mita has evolved into one of the most sophisticated places in the state of Nayarit, boasting a world-class lineup of luxury resorts and hotels.
Its two renowned golf courses, designed by Jack Nicklaus, stand out: Punta Mita Pacífico and Punta Mita Bahía. The Pacific course is famous for its “Whale Tail” hole, located on a natural island, while the Bahía course offers a challenge with its 18 holes on undulating terrain.
In addition, Punta de Mita has exclusive boutiques, gourmet restaurants, spas, and vibrant nightlife, all in an environment of incomparable natural beauty.
Bucerías
This destination is known for being one of the cleanest and safest beaches in the area, attracting both domestic and foreign tourists looking to relax on its fine sands and enjoy activities such as sailing, kayaking, and jet skiing.
What’s more, Bucerías is a charming typical Mexican town, known for its cobbled streets, colorful facades, and peaceful atmosphere. Visitors can ride a bicycle, explore the ejidal market — an open-air marketplace where local artisans and vendors sell their wares — and enjoy local cuisine in restaurants and bars in the main plaza.
The friendliness of the people, the impressive local sunsets, and the traditional Mexican atmosphere make Bucerías an incredibly appealing destination.
Nuevo Nayarit
One of the most exclusive beach destinations in Mexico, this coastal paradise offers luxurious hotels and resorts, world-class golf courses, and gourmet restaurants. Its golden beaches stretch for 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) — an ideal amount of space for both water activities and relaxation.
Nuevo Nayarit stands out for its resorts, which have earned distinctions such as the Five Diamonds awarded by the American Automobile Association (AAA), to hotels that offer the finest and most luxurious in accommodation, atmosphere, and hospitality.
With this exceptional hotel infrastructure, Nuevo Nayarit is perfect for weddings and honeymoons. Visitors can enjoy sophisticated spas, mangrove tours, and flora and fauna viewing, including the area’s mesmerizing sea turtle population.
Nayarit is a state full of diversity and natural beauty, known for its rich culture, delicious gastronomy, and impressive landscapes. From its paradisiacal beaches to its charming Magical Towns, each of these places will offer you an unforgettable experience.

What To Know About Dangerous Rip Currents And How Swimmers Caught In One Can Escape
Stinging jellyfish, rays with their whip-like tails and sharks on the hunt are some ocean hazards that might typically worry beachgoers. But rip currents are the greatest danger and account for the most beach rescues every year.
Six people drowned in rip currents over a recent two-day period in Florida, including a couple vacationing on Hutchinson Island from Pennsylvania with their six children and three young men on a Panhandle holiday from Alabama, officials say.
About 100 people drown from rip currents along U.S. beaches each year, according to the United States Lifesaving Association. And more than 80 percent of beach rescues annually involve rip currents.
The National Weather Service lists 16 known deaths so far in 2024 from rip currents in U.S. waters, including the Florida fatalities as well as eight deaths in Puerto Rico and two in Texas.
Here are some things to know about rip currents:
What is a rip current?
Rip currents are narrow columns of water flowing rapidly away from the beach, like a swift stream within the ocean. They don’t pull swimmers under water, but can carry them out a fair distance from shore.
Low spots along the beach, or areas near jetties or piers, are often where rip currents form. They can be connected to stormy weather but also sometimes occur during sunny days. They can be hard to detect because the surface water often appears calm.
The current can flow as swiftly as eight feet per second (3.2 meters per second), faster than even a strong swimmer can overcome, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
“If you’re caught in one and you try to swim straight in, you’re not going to be able to,” said Daniel Barnickel of Palm Beach County Ocean Rescue.
How can someone escape a rip current?
The most frequent advice from beach rescue teams and weather forecasters is to not panic and look for a chance to swim parallel to the shore until the swimmer is out of the rip current’s grip. It will eventually dissipate but might leave the swimmer out in deeper water.
It’s nearly impossible to fight the current directly. Many swimmers who get in trouble tire themselves out trying to get back to the beach, lifeguards say. If possible, it’s best to swim near a lifeguard station.
“Most of our rip current rescues happen outside the guarded areas because we’re not there to prevent it from happening,” Barnickel said.
What warning systems exist for rip currents?
Flags with different colors are used to warn beachgoers of various hazards.
Three flags warn of surf and rip current conditions. Red means a high hazard, yellow means a moderate threat and green means low danger. There’s also purple for dangerous sea life, like jellyfish, and double red when a beach is closed for any reason.
The National Weather Service posts rip current risks on its websites around the coasts and has developed a computer model that can predict when conditions are favorable for their formation up to six days in advance for the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Guam.
“Before this, forecasters were manually predicting rip currents on a large section of the ocean twice a day and only a day or two into the future. The earlier prediction has potential to substantially increase awareness and reduce drownings,” said Gregory Dusek, a NOAA scientist who developed the model, in a post on the agency’s website
High risk warnings were posted for most Florida beaches last week, when the drownings occurred.
Should someone attempt a rip current rescue?
It can be dangerous to try to rescue someone caught in a rip current, officials say. Often the people trying to perform the rescue can get into trouble themselves.
It’s best to find a lifeguard, if there is one, or call 911 if a struggling swimmer is spotted. People on shore can also try to tell the person to swim parallel to shore.
BY CURT ANDERSON “Never swim alone. And always make sure that there’s an adult. And make sure that you don’t overestimate your abilities. Know your limits,” Barnickel said.

Philadelphia Launches Multiyear Slate Of Activities In Lead Up To America’s Semiquincentennial
Pa. Gov. Josh Shapiro and City, State leaders announce public events through 2026.
Standing beneath the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial, a coalition of city and state leaders, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, City Representative and Director of Special Events Jazelle Jones, Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson, Visit Philadelphia President and CEO Angela Val, City of Philadelphia 2026 Director Michael Newmuis, and CEO of TED Jay Herratti officially kicked off the nation’s 250th anniversary of independence by announcing its first wave of a robust multi-year schedule of programming, events, and activities through 2026.
“Philadelphia is the birthplace of American democracy and has been the leading destination for advocates, innovators, and leaders since the first Continental Congress — and that long tradition continues through to today,” said Governor Josh Shapiro. “As our nation prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026, Philadelphia and the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will be the place to be. From the TED Democracy Series starting this summer to the FIFA World Cup and the MLB All Star Game, the Commonwealth is ready to host millions of visitors and show off our incredible towns and cities, like Philadelphia, to the world.”
The announcement was led by the official launch of TED Democracy in Philadelphia, a series focused on the future of democracy, hosted in the city of brotherly love in partnership with Visit Philadelphia and sponsored by the Bank of America, Comcast, and Highmark Blue Shield. The program is also supported by the Philadelphia hotel community and the Philadelphia Funder Collaborative for the Semiquincentennial.
”Philadelphia has a long history of being a gathering place for new ideas—and in 1776, thought leaders came together to sign the Declaration of Independence, creating the foundation for the United States and modern democracy,” said TED CEO Jay Herratti. “Now, Philadelphia is teaming up with TED—another convener of ideas—to create a platform that could shape the next 250 years of democracy globally. This partnership is a testament to the impact we can create when we come together to focus on solutions and encourage action. The entire TED organization is looking forward to kicking off this impressive slate of events and digital launches alongside Visit Philadelphia.”
The first TED Fireside Chat in the series will feature Emmy-nominated host, producer, writer, and public speaker, Baratunde Thurston. Governor Shapiro will headline a TED Fireside Chat later this year. The TED Democracy series aligns perfectly with more than a dozen other exciting activations and events Philadelphia will be hosting over the next two years.
“Philadelphia is truly the center of American history and now we will be the center of this historic 250th anniversary celebration,” said Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker. “We’ve built a collaborative plan that explores different aspects of our historic place in the founding of American democracy, while also supporting a number of exciting celebrations to bring people from around the country together here in Philadelphia and join us over the next two years and beyond.”
Starting as soon as July 2, 2024 and continuing through 2026, Philadelphia’s semiquincentennial line-up includes:
Red, White, & Blue To-Do: John Adams famously declared that July 2nd should be a day of “pomp and parade.” So, starting July 2, 2024, and occurring annually, the Philadelphia Historic District partners will host this patriotic celebration taking place throughout America’s most historic square mile with parades, concerts and more.
The Young People’s Continental Congress: In July of 2024 and 2025 Carpenters’ Hall will host this youth-focused event bringing together delegates from across the country to explore the themes of democracy and to engage in civic dialogue.
250th Birthdays of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps: In October of 2025, Philadelphia will be partnering with the US Navy and Marine Corps as well as Homecoming 250 in hosting their 250th birthday celebration. More details on that event will be coming in the months ahead.
The Declaration’s Journey: The Museum of the American Revolution will host this major special exhibition exploring the history and global impact of the Declaration of Independence from 1776 to today. The exhibition will run from Oct. 18, 2025 through Jan. 3, 2027.
52 Weeks of Firsts: The Philadelphia Historic District will commemorate the Philadelphia-born creativity and ingenuity that has been shared globally over the past 250 years with weekly acknowledgments starting January 2026.
NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament: March Madness comes to Philadelphia in 2026 when the city will host first and second round tournament play at the Wells Fargo Center.
ArtPhilly What Now: This city-wide arts festival will launch in May 2026 and will highlight Philadelphia’s iconic arts institutions, neighborhood arts initiatives and talented artists.
FIFA World Cup 26™: June – July 2026 Philadelphia will host matches at Lincoln Financial Field culminating in a knockout stage match on July 4, 2026. The World Cup FanFest will also run through July 17th giving soccer fans a great place to meet up, watch matches and celebrate victories.
Wawa Welcome America: And, with the world watching, the city will host the biggest and best July 4th celebration Philadelphia’s ever seen.
2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game: Citizens Bank Park will host this multi-day event honoring baseball’s best and celebrating America’s favorite past-time in the city where America was born.
Printmaking by the People – Citywide Voices of 2026: Mural Arts Philadelphia team will begin concepting in 2024, and in 2026 will present this crowd-sourced mural that will create a lasting visual legacy that honors the semiquincentennial, our shared values and desired changes.

The Barnes Foundation In Philadelphia Presents “Matisse & Renoir: New Encounters At The Barnes” June 23–September 8, 2024
The Barnes Foundation presents Matisse & Renoir: New Encounters at the Barnes, an exhibition featuring a selection of renowned canvases from its modern European art collection. Co-curated by curator Cindy Kang and assistant curator Corrinne Chong, this exhibition—including 34 iconic works by Henri Matisse and Pierre-Auguste Renoir from the second floor of the Barnes collection galleries—reflects the expansion of the Barnes’s educational program, emphasizing the historical and cultural context of the works.

On view in the Roberts Gallery from June 23 through September 8, 2024, Matisse & Renoir: New Encounters at the Barnes is sponsored by Comcast NBCUniversal.
Tracing the creative development of two foundational artists of European modernism, this exhibition will display Matisse and Renoir paintings from the same time period in proximity, such as Matisse’s The Joy of Life (1905–6) and Red Madras Headdress (1907), and Renoir’s Leaving the Conservatory (1876–77) and Mussel-Fishers at Berneval (1879). Creating space for new conversations between works—a critical aspect of education, research, and public access—it will give audiences a rare opportunity to temporarily view these paintings in new contexts and juxtapositions. While this exhibition is on view, the second floor of the Barnes collection will be closed for a floor refinishing project. Following the exhibition, the paintings will return to their original locations in the collection galleries.
“We are delighted to present this exhibition featuring two artists that Dr. Barnes collected voraciously—Matisse and Renoir—and allow visitors and students the opportunity to experience these iconic works from a fresh perspective. Seeing beloved works in new conversations for the first time is sure to be an enriching and revelatory occasion,” says Thom Collins, Neubauer Family Executive Director and President. “Like the original educational experience when Dr. Barnes and Violette de Mazia moved works of art to create new juxtapositions for students, we are enthusiastic about the enhanced educational opportunities that will result from seeing Barnes paintings in new contexts.”
Beginning with a gallery dedicated to Renoir, the exhibition presents a select overview of his work, from impressionist landscapes to his late portraits of rosy-hued women. Renoir significantly influenced the next generation of modern French artists, including Matisse, who considered him a leading colorist and figure painter. Contemporaneous with Renoir’s late paintings, Matisse’s fauve works are highlighted in the next gallery, reunited in a rare display that offers visitors the space to appreciate the expansive nature of his radical and vibrant canvases. By 1917, Matisse was painting in the South of France and began visiting Renoir at his home in Cagnes to show the older artist his recent work. Inspired by this moment of direct conversation between the artists, the exhibition juxtaposes Matisse’s Three Sisters triptych (1917) with three of Renoir’s monumental multifigure compositions. The final gallery, anchored by Matisse’s Music Lesson (1917), explores the play between interior and exterior space in his window scenes, which remained a site of formal and thematic experimentation through his late work.
“Through this exhibition, visitors will discover how a particular place or moment in time shaped the work of each artist and consider the possibility of their shared creative ideas,” say the co-curators. “We hope this temporary presentation will inspire audiences to view these well-known works in a new light with a renewed sense of appreciation.”
The exhibition will feature 34 major works, including paintings and one sculpture, from the second floor of the Barnes collection. Highlights include:
Henri Matisse, Le bonheur de vivre or The Joy of Life(1905–6): This monumental canvas, which once hung in the famous collection of Gertrude and Leo Stein, is one of the watershed paintings in the history of European modernism. When Matisse first exhibited it in Paris in 1906, audiences were shocked by the bold colors, the jarring shifts in scale, and the distorted anatomies.
Matisse, The Music Lesson (1917): Matisse set this portrait of his wife, daughter, and two sons in the living room of their family home in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France. While the children are occupied with the piano, Madame Matisse is seen through a large open window sitting in the garden, as if the exterior space was an extension of the living room. Music played an important role in the Matisse household; the artist himself was an accomplished violinist. Perhaps the violin resting in the foreground of this family portrait is Matisse's way of including himself in the picture.
Matisse, Red Madras Headdress (1907): The model for this painting was Amélie Matisse, the artist's wife, who posed frequently for her husband in some of the most revolutionary canvases of the early 20th century. When Matisse first exhibited this picture in 1907, it was not received very well by critics. Matisse deliberately challenges the conventions of portraiture by distorting his subject's body and focusing instead on color and pattern.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Leaving the Conservatory(1876–77): Renoir uses subtle body language to convey the flirtatious exchanges among a group of young Parisians gathered outside a music school. One man gently nudges his friend into conversation with a woman holding a scroll of paper, likely a piece of sheet music. The artist arranged the seemingly random grouping carefully, using members of his bohemian circle as models. While the painting dates to Renoir’s impressionist period, its large scale suggests that he may have intended it for the Salon.
Renoir,Mussel-Fishers at Berneval (1879): During a visit to the Normandy coast, Renoir painted this idyllic scene of a peasant family gathering mussels. Images of fisherfolk were popular at the Salon, but Renoir deviates from the theme by focusing on the children rather than the adult. Consistent with his other portraits of children, the artist rejoiced in painting the young harvesters’ rose-flushed cheeks and apricot-hued flesh, but their disheveled hair and ragged clothing hints at their labor.
Renoir, The Seine at Argenteuil (1888): In 1888, Renoir spent a leisurely yet productive summer at the home of the impressionist artist and patron Gustave Caillebotte in Petit Gennevilliers, France. This canvas presents a view from the south bank of the Seine toward the resort town of Argenteuil, concealed by the avenue of trees along the riverside. Departing from the technical experimentations that characterized his landscapes of the same period, Renoir returns to the bold color contrasts and loose, broken brushwork that marked his impressionist canvases of the mid-1870s.

Travelore Health Warning: A Record-Breaking Number Of Mosquitoes Are Carrying West Nile Virus Around Las Vegas
Climate change is expanding the reach of insect-borne diseases. Las Vegas' exploding mosquito population offers a case study of what's to come.

A record-breaking number of mosquitoes in and around Las Vegas are carrying West Nile virus, sparking warnings from local health officials who say the public should take precautions to avoid getting bit. West Nile virus can cause fever, headaches, vomiting and diarrhea and is fatal in about 1 of 150 cases. There are no vaccines or medications to treat or prevent the mosquito-borne illness.
In recent weeks, 169 of over 24,000 pools of mosquitoes tested for West Nile virus returned positive — meaning at least one insect in the pool carried the disease — across 25 southern Nevada ZIP codes. The number of mosquitoes recorded and the tally of positive pools this early in the season break the area’s records for both metrics, set in 2019.
“These are huge numbers of mosquitoes, and we’ve already identified a concerning number of them carrying the West Nile virus,” said Vivek Raman, an environmental health supervisor for the Southern Nevada Health District.
Health officials have also identified six pools in the Las Vegas area that tested positive for St. Louis encephalitis virus, a mosquito-borne disease that can cause fatal inflammation of the brain.
For decades, climate scientists and public health officials have warned that climate change could expand the reach of various infectious diseases, especially those spread by mosquitoes. Las Vegas’ exploding mosquito population and the local uptick in West Nile prevalence offers an important case study on how climate could affect human health.
Climate change increases average global temperatures and precipitation levels, fostering conditions that are ideal for mosquitoes, which breed in still, warm water. It also extends the length of warm periods, prolonging the active season for mosquitoes. These changes increase the risk of human exposure to diseases like West Nile virus, even in places that have never recorded cases before.
The first case of West Nile virus in Las Vegas was recorded in 2004 — five years after the United States’ first case was documented in 1999 in New York City. Las Vegas’ most recent West Nile outbreak occurred five years ago, resulting in 43 human cases. District health officials are concerned that this summer could be far worse. In Nevada and much of the Southwest, springtime weather has become warmer and summertime heat waves have grown increasingly extreme over the last few decades. Las Vegas has seen average springtime temperatures rise by 6.2 F since 1970; this month, the city has already experienced a weeklong, record-breaking heat wave. Las Vegas has seen average springtime temperatures rise by 6.2 F since 1970; this month, the city has already experienced a weeklong, record-breaking heat wave.
Southern Nevada’s rising temperatures are creating favorable conditions for mosquitoes, said Nischay Mishra, an assistant professor of epidemiology at Columbia University. What’s more, ongoing drought conditions in the state, which have led to low water table levels throughout the Colorado River Basin, including in Lake Mead, may also be counterintuitively beneficial for the insects.
“Mosquitoes typically thrive in wet and hot places,” Mishra said. “But in Nevada, as smaller bodies of water dry up, they create shallow waters that are ideal for mosquito breeding.”
Las Vegas’ mosquito surge has been giant: Last year, district health officials measured 6,000 mosquitos in traps across Clark County from April to June. This year, counts have already exceeded 24,000.
The vast majority have been Culex mosquitoes, a primary vector for West Nile virus. But another mosquito species that does not carry the virus, Aedes aegypti, has also become more common in Las Vegas. Aedes was first spotted in the area in 2017, and Raman attributes its spread there to the impacts of climate change, as well.
Along with climate, human behavior plays an important role in the spread of vector-borne diseases. Aedes and Culex mosquitoes both thrive in the backyards of many Las Vegas homes — the former breed in small pools of water such as those left from sprinklers, while the latter often breed along the surface of unmaintained swimming pools.
Raman said the best way to avoid infection is to empty any open containers filled with water outside, maintain swimming pools, wear protective clothing and use bug spray to avoid getting bit.
Louise Ivers, a professor of global health and social medicine at Harvard Medical School and the director of its Global Health Institute, said situations like the one in Las Vegas will become more common as climate change continues to boost infectious disease globally.
“We should expect to see new infectious diseases, old infectious diseases back again and a change in the patterns of exposure of existing infectious diseases like West Nile virus,” Ivers said. “Things that we used to do freely without worrying as much about protection from vectors like mosquitoes or ticks, we might not be able to do anymore.”

Hurricane-Proof Your Travel Plans: Travelore Insurance Tips For The Caribbean-Destined Traveler
With an already tumultuous hurricane season predicted for 2024, it's important to discuss travel insurance now, even if you don't plan on traveling until this fall. Yonder Travel Insurance discloses vital considerations to make before passing on coverage for your trip.
Rising Popularity of Beach and Warm-Weather Getaways
Yonder's seen travel insurance sales for top hurricane-prone Caribbean destinations increase from last year:
British Virgin Islands: (+221%)
Turks & Caicos: (+71%)
Belize: (+66%)
Mexico: (+24%)
US Virgin Islands: (+18%)
Even if you're traveling domestically this fall, your trip could still be at risk of travel disruptions if visiting southeast regions in the United States.
Purchasing Travel Insurance Early Prevents Trip Investment Loss
So what are the benefits of purchasing early? Travel insurance might not be on your mind yet if your trip is later this fall –but it should be if you want to protect your trip and get the best coverage.
"There's a reason we advocate those traveling during hurricane season buy insurance now," says Terry Boynton, co-founder and president of Yonder Travel Insurance. "If you wait too long, you might end up losing your trip investment if a storm is named before you get insured."
Yonder recommends insuring your trip soon after you make your first booking or deposit. Trip cancellation coverage becomes effective the day after purchase, protecting your trip cost right away should anything derail your plans.
Other Travel Insurance Coverage for Hurricane-Related Issues
In addition to protecting your trip costs in case your trip is cancelled or interrupted, travel insurance could also reimburse extra costs associated to:
Delayed or cancelled flights
Stranded with additional expenses (hotels/meals/etc.)
Lost luggage
Missed cruise departure
Lost prepaid tour costs due to itinerary change
Getting Hurricane Coverage Is Simple With Yonder
Not sure where to start? Yonder's quote results page allows users to select a specific filter that will populate plans including hurricane coverage. Additionally, if you're going on a cruise, you can select the "cruise" travel style to receive the top three policy recommendations tailored to the specific needs of cruise travelers.
The experts at Yonder Travel Insurance have poured over hundreds of policies from the best travel insurance providers in the US to provide the best travel insurance recommendation for how YOU travel.

Barolo And Barbaresco Inaugurate The Wine Tourism Season
Data collected from a study by Divinea indicate that 43.8% of those who booked a wine cellar experience in Italy in 2023 are 25 to 34 years old, and the number of cellars open for visits on Saturday has risen to 78.1%. While this phenomenon varies greatly from one wine producing land to another, once more the Langhe have proven themselves to be a highly attractive area.
A new phenomenon: the de-seasonalisation of wine tourism
Two factors encourage visits to cellars during the entire year. Milder autumn and winter temperatures on the one hand, and the rising number of cellars that have developed targeted seasonal offerings on the other.
A unique land
The Langhe are in southern Piedmont. The name, of Celtic origin, means "strips of land" and refers to the elongated hills, often very steep-sided, which run parallel to each other, forming numerous narrow and steep valleys. The Langhe area is one of the most generous regions in the world in terms of the quality and variety of its wine production.
The roots of these great wines stem from the singular geographic position, suitable climate and rich substrate, which distinguish these hill areas, making them an environment rich in biodiversity.
Uniqueness and exceptionalness have meant that over the years the Langhe have become an important tourist and wine tourism destination, responding effectively to a demand that has progressively surfaced in the general public, in Italy and beyond.
The Consortium in numbers
The Consortium Consorzio Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani includes 579 member wineries to date, 10 thousand hectares of protected denomination vine fields, which break down as follows: Barolo 2,258 hectares; Barbaresco 859; Dogliani 766; Diano d'Alba 204; Barbera d'Alba 1,734; Nebbiolo d'Alba 1174; Dolcetto d'Alba 934; Langhe 2,620 hectares.
nnnnnn
With 66 million bottles of wine produced, it boasts 9 protected denominations (Barolo, Barbaresco, Dogliani, Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe, Dolcetto d'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Verduno Pelaverga).
Barolo & Barbaresco World Opening is part of the European campaign "Top Tales: a piece of Europe on your table", a project funded by the European Union and promoted by the DOCG Barolo and Barbaresco, Fontina PDO Valle d'Aosta, and Riso di Baraggia Biellese e Vercellese PDO.

Travelore News: Global Airlines Bet On India Travel Boom
Global airlines are launching new flights and expanding schedules in India, betting the South Asian giant will become one of the hottest travel markets over the next decade, airline officials and analysts say.
India, among the fastest-growing major aviation markets, took centre stage at the industry's largest gathering of global airline CEOs and aircraft leasing companies in Dubai last week, with domestic and international air travel surging.
The domestic air travel market in India is expected to double to 300 million passengers from a record 152 million in 2023, according to government data.
International traffic is set to grow faster, reaching 160 million passengers by 2030 from 64 million last year, estimates from aviation research group CAPA India show.
To tap that growth, Turkish Airlines, opens new tab is evaluating flights between its southern beach town of Antalya and India, chairman Ahmet Bolat said at The International Air Transport Association (IATA) summit.
Turkish Airlines may run the route through Sun Express, a carrier it operates jointly with Lufthansa, opens new tab, or through its Indian codeshare partner IndiGo, he said.
Hungary-based budget carrier Wizz Air opens new tab is aiming to launch its first flights to the country next year, CEO Jozsef Varadi told Reuters at a separate aviation conference in New Delhi last week, organised by CAPA India.
The strong outlook has prompted India's two biggest airlines - budget carrier IndiGo (INGL.NS), opens new tab and Tata Group's Air India - to place record orders for hundreds of new planes, which will largely be delivered over 10 years.
HUGE FLEET GROWTH
India's total aircraft fleet is expected to increase to more than 1,500 by 2030 from around 700 currently, with most planes financed through sale and leaseback deals, making the country attractive to aircraft lessors.
"The demand growth is unlike what we see in any other jurisdictions," Firoz Tarapore, CEO at aircraft leasing company Dubai Aerospace Enterprise told Reuters in Dubai.
"If you say that (fare) price discipline is good and demand is on a secular uptrend then I think it's a market that we as a lessor community will want to be part of that growth," he said.
The government is backing up this growth with an investment of about $12 billion in new and upgraded airports.
"India is taking its place on the world stage," said IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, talking to reporters on the sidelines of the IATA meet. Elbers moved to India two years ago, leaving his position as CEO of Dutch carrier KLM. Such is the buzz around India, some big international airlines are frustrated at a lack of market access. Emirates and Turkish Airlines want more flight capacity rights in India, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is prioritising domestic carriers.
"In the end, you are compromising the strength of your economy by restricting access not only of Emirates, but all foreign carriers," Emirates President Tim Clark said at the Dubai conference. Much of India's travel growth is expected to come from its huge diaspora of 35 million people, who mostly live in North America, Europe and South Africa, as well as a growing crop of adventurous, young Indian travellers with rising incomes.
"This coming decade is India's decade for growth," independent aviation analyst Brendan Sobie said, adding that India could experience the kind of travel surge China witnessed in the decade prior to the COVID pandemic.

Government Of Canada Announces $3.6M For New Exhibits At Red Bay National Historic Site
Parks Canada protects natural and cultural treasures in Canada and is proud to contribute to the country's world-class tourism destinations. As cornerstones of Canada's tourism industry, Parks Canada administered places are committed to providing visitors with high quality and meaningful visitor experiences and supporting tourism in communities across the country.
Yvonne Jones, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Northern Affairs and to the Minister of National Defence (Northern Defence) and Member of Parliament for Labrador, on behalf of the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, announced funding for a new $3.6 million suite of interpretive offerings and interactive exhibits at Red Bay National Historic Site in Red Bay, Labrador following a community event. Through this federal investment – part of the $557 million in funding announced by the Government of Canada in late 2022 – these experiential offerings will showcase this UNESCO World Heritage Site to visitors from around the globe starting in June 2025.
During the mid-16th century, large numbers of right and bowhead whales drew whalers from the Basque region of Spain and France to the Strait of Belle Isle, where they established a major whaling port at Red Bay. For some 70 years, Basque whalers made the dangerous, month-long journey across the Atlantic to hunt whales and produce the oil that lit the lamps of Europe. With this funding, and in collaboration with Indigenous partners, stakeholders and community members, Parks Canada will create new exhibit and interpretive installations that will transform the visitor experience at Red Bay National Historic Site. These will include interactive exhibits in the newly renovated Visitor Centre; outdoor interpretive elements, including an interpretive circuit on Saddle Island focusing on four interpretive nodes; and a Whaler's Memorial on Saddle Island. The new exhibits will acknowledge the long history of human occupation of the site, including Indigenous groups who came before and after the Basques.
Parks Canada recognizes the area now designated as Red Bay National Historic Site has been traversed and occupied by many peoples over the centuries. The arrival of the Basques crystallized the historical significance of Red Bay, but the land is of significance to many communities whose past is intrinsically linked to what is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Parks Canada recognizes the rich exchanges and collaboration with each of these communities, allowing for a project where many voices can express their stories, in their own words, and celebrate the world-renowned significance of Red Bay National Historic Site. Across the country, Parks Canada works in collaboration with Indigenous peoples to develop interpretive materials and activities at Parks Canada administered places with the goal of fostering a better understanding of Indigenous peoples' perspectives, cultures and traditions.
As part of Parks Canada's renewal of Red Bay National Historic Site, in 2019 a project was completed that combined the interpretive facilities at the site, which had been housed in two separate locations. Funded through federal infrastructure investments, the project amalgamated the existing visitor orientation centre with the visitor interpretation centre. With one main visitor centre, the story behind Red Bay's UNESCO World Heritage status will now be presented as a whole and the site's environmental footprint has been reduced supporting the Government of Canada's greening efforts. This past project combined with the funding for the site's new exhibits represents a total of $6.2 million in federal funding for Red Bay National Historic Site.

SWISS Introduces Michelin-Starred Cuisine From The Canton Of Vaud
SWISS will begin serving its First and Business Class guests exciting new culinary creations from the Canton of Vaud. This Michelin-starred cuisine is the latest iteration of the ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ inflight food and beverage program, bringing Swiss cuisine to the world. The select meals have been created by Franck Giovannini, a top chef at the Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville in the town of Crissier, Switzerland. SWISS’s new Premium Economy Class menu also draws inspiration from the Western Swiss canton, including local cheese specialties.
For the next three months, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will be serving Business and First Class customers, on its long-haul flights from Switzerland, culinary delights from the Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville, located in the Swiss town, Crissier. The gourmet restaurant is the proud holder of three Michelin stars and 19 Gault-Millau points. Located in Crissier’s former town hall, minutes away from Lausanne, the restaurant offers outstanding cuisine with strong traditional touches.
Since 2016, Franck Giovannini has been the Chef de cuisine and general manager of the Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville. His Vaudois culinary concoctions have earned fame and acclaim far beyond the canton’s borders. This starred chef’s classic creations are now being served aboard SWISS flights.
“Franck Giovannini’s cuisine is highly innovative and is based on seasonal and regional ingredients that are all combined into a truly sophisticated experience,” said SWISS Head of Brand Experience Julia Hillenbrand. “And, we’re delighted to be able to familiarize our inflight guests with Canton Vaud, with all its gastronomic variety, through Franck’s creations.”
“I have been working at the Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville in Crissier for some 29 years now,” added Franck Giovannini. “I’ve had the great, good fortune to cook alongside such outstanding chefs as Frédy Girardet, Philippe Rochat and Benoît Violier. I’m carrying on this exceptional tradition, by preserving my predecessors’ culinary philosophy while further developing it daily. I am delighted to share the spirit and the heritage of this wonderful establishment with SWISS and its guests.”
Vaudois classics and award-winning cuisine
For the appetizer, SWISS First Class customers can enjoy a langoustine with tomato mousse. For their main course, Franck Giovannini has created a veal filet mignon served with conchiglioni pasta filled with aubergine caviar., SWISS Business Class travelers can choose between a beef tenderloin served with pesto polenta or a grilled chicken breast accompanied by gnocchetti di Zita pasta for their main course. The SWISS Business offering is rounded off with a gourmet-style classic Vaudois dessert: an éclair with raspberries and caramelized pistachios.
The new three-course SWISS Premium Economy Class menu also draws its inspiration from Canton Vaud. Premium Economy travelers can enjoy local specialty cheeses such as Gruyère and Bleu du Village, with a classic apricot tart to round off the experience. The new ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ menus are attached to this release.
Gourmet dining aloft
Since December 2002, SWISS has been taking its First and Business Class guests on its long-haul services from Switzerland on a journey of culinary discovery through its home country’s various regions. The ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ program was also extended to the new SWISS Premium Economy Class in 2022. Every three months, a new Michelin-starred and Gault-Millau-point top chef is invited to create a varied selection of quality dishes from their ‘home’ canton, with a particular focus on regional and seasonal specialties. The meal creations are also accompanied by wines and cheeses from their home region. In its 21-year success story, the ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ program has welcomed aboard 84 guest chefs representing every one of Switzerland’s 26 cantons.
