Helsinki Baltic Herring Fair 2013The Helsinki Baltic Herring Fair is held on 6–12 October in a maritime atmosphere. The fishers working on the Baltic Sea have once again brought the traditional salted herring to the Helsinki Market Square, as well as a delicious selection of herring marinades from rowan berries to red pepper. Of course, you can also find delicious dark bread in the archipelago style, clothes made from the wool of island sheep as well as other handicrafts.
This year Helsinki Culinary School Perho and Helsinki Vocational College are in charge of the tasty market food! You’ll find Restaurant “Strömari” at the Lübec Quay. It’s opening hours are: Sunday 10:30 – 17:00, from Monday to Friday 10:30 – 18:30 and Saturday 10:30 – 15:00.
Fair opening hours: Sun-Fri 7am-7pm, Sat 7am-3pm

Northern clean nature and summer with long sunny days and white nights give an incredibly delicious taste to berries and fungi. It is not only the aroma - Finnish berries and mushrooms are clean and healthy; they contain huge amounts of important vitamins, flavonoids, fiber, and anti-oxidants. The Berry season begins in mid July when blueberries are ripen.
This guided nature hike takes you to the best picking places in Nuuksio National Park. Duration of a trip is 3-4 hours. Group size is 1-8 persons (bigger groups on request).
