TripAdvisor has announced the winners of its 2016 Travelers'
TripAdvisor has announced the winners of its 2016 Travelers' Choice awards for hotels. The rankings were determined based on millions of reviews collected in a single year from TripAdvisor users worldwide. The Sherry-Netherland Hotel in New York, shown here, is ranked the No. 1 hotel in the U.S.  TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor has named The Sherry-Netherland Hotel in New York City the U.S. winner of its Travelers’ Choice awards for hotels and Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur in India the top winner worldwide.
The winners were based on millions of reviews collected in a single year from TripAdvisor users worldwide.
The awards, given out over the last 14 years, recognize more than 7,000 properties in 97 countries. The hotels are judged based on service, quality and value.
“Travelers considering their next trip can book confidently selecting from these award-winners that have already delighted millions of members of the TripAdvisor community,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor, in a written statement.
The average nightly rate of Travelers’ Choice award-winning Top Hotels on TripAdvisor is $325.
