What’s On For 2017
This year’s Flower Show will not only transport visitors from wintery Philadelphia to a virtual springtime paradise, but the show will also afford attendees a quick trip to the Netherlands.
“Holland: Flowering the World” serves as inspiration to the show’s floral designers and explores the country’s eco-design, modern greening and traditional windmills, wooden shoes and tulips.
Visitors can expect a soaring entrance garden with more than 30,000 blooms and an overhead flower canopy, 10 acres of exhibition halls with floral displays celebrating Dutch history and culture, Dutch garden innovations like a futuristic eco-dome (that’s making its first trip out of the Netherlands for the Flower Show!) and much more.
For experiences beyond merely stopping to smell the tulips, show-goers can visit attractions within the Convention Center like the PHS Pop-Up Beer Garden, Flower Show Marketplace, Designer’s Studio and Butterflies Live.
New this year, a Garden Spa on the Grand Concourse offers visitors respite from the busy crowds with massages and more. Additionally, the Convention Center’s Grand Hall houses a World Market and Dutch Garden Village with make-and-take crafts, tastings and the chance to buy imported Dutch goods.
In addition to the displays and exhibitions that fill the show, themed events are once again on tap for 2017. New this year, Flowers After Hours gives folks the chance to attend an opening night dance party.
