Travelore Deals: Norwegian Air's $69 U.S.-To-Europe Flights Are Coming In 2017

Alamy

One-way tickets from the East Coast to Europe will be cheaper than ever. This is not a drill.
As early as 2017, airfares on discount carrier Norwegian Air from the U.S. to Europe will be as low as $69 one-way. Though the deal only lasts one-way (round-trip flights should cost around $300), booking a transatlantic ticket at that price from the low-cost airline is definitely a catch in our book, since most round-trip flights are upwards of $1,000. The flights will likely head to Edinburgh, Scotland and Bergen, Norway, the airline’s CEO said Tuesday. The key to keeping costs down? Opening customs stations at east coast airports that have essentially no international service, like New York's Westchester County Airport and Connecticut's Bradley International Airport. By offering nonstop service to smaller cities in the U.S., Norwegian Air can avoid the heavy fees of the more traditional flight hubs.
