Norwegian Air Shuttle is expanding it's trans-Atlantic routes again and is now offering routes to Paris from New York, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale. It launches those flights July 29 and will they be on 787's . Some initial sales prices in the fall are on sale at $175 one way.

Norwegian Takes Flight From The U.S. To The Caribbean With Fares Starting At $79 Each Way

- Norwegian offers its first flights from the United States to Guadeloupe and Martinique in the French Caribbean.

  Norwegian will offer three flights per week from JFK to Guadeloupe and Martinique, and twice weekly service to both islands from Baltimore/Washington DC and Boston.

Due to high demand on the New York routes, Norwegian extended its season service through the end of April. Flights are now available for purchase on Norwegian.com/us, with fares starting as low as $79 one-way, including taxes

“We are excited to launch our first short-haul flights out of the U.S. today, and once again connect these hidden jewels of the Caribbean to the Northeast U.S. for the first time in more than 20 years. Not only does Norwegian now offer Americans the lowest fares to both the Caribbean and Europe, but we are also the first airline to offer free Wi-Fi and live TV all the way to the Caribbean,” said Norwegian’s CEO Bjørn Kjos.

The new French Caribbean routes will be a winter season operation 2015/16 due to lack of aircraft availability summer 2016. Next winter, with an even larger fleet available, Norwegian aims to return with more aircraft and more frequencies. In addition, new routes and destinations are being assessed.

Norwegian currently offers 34 nonstop routes from the U.S. to London, Scandinavia and the Caribbean, providing more European routes than any other European airline. Norwegian has added 10 new routes from the U.S. this year alone, including from Las Vegas and San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Europe. In May 2016, the airline will add flights from Boston to Copenhagen, London and Oslo.

Norwegian operates one of the world’s most modern and eco-friendly fleets. Last month, 69700 named Norwegian the Most Fuel-Efficient Airline on Transatlantic Routes in its study. Earlier this week it was also named Europe’s Best Low-Cost Airline by AirlineRatings.com for the second year in a row. On the U.S.-Caribbean routes, Norwegian will fly its new Boeing 737-800s with 186 comfortable, leather seats and it will be the first airline to offer free Wi-Fi on flights to the Caribbean. As early as 2017, airfares on discount carrier Norwegian Air from the U.S. to Europe will be as low as $69 one-way. Though the deal only lasts one-way (round-trip flights should cost around $300), booking a transatlantic ticket at that price from the low-cost airline is definitely a catch in our book, since most round-trip flights are upwards of $1,000. The flights will likely head to Edinburgh, Scotland and Bergen, Norway, the airline’s CEO said Tuesday. The key to keeping costs down? Opening customs stations at east coast airports that have essentially no international service, like New York's Westchester County Airport and Connecticut's Bradley International Airport. By offering nonstop service to smaller cities in the U.S., Norwegian Air can avoid the heavy fees of the more traditional flight hubs.

Norwegian continues to expand its long-haul network with new direct routes. Starting November 2015, Norwegian will launch a non-stop service between London Gatwick and the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. As of May 2015, Pula in Croatia will be a new destination from London Gatwick. The airline is also adding more weekly flights between London Gatwick and New York.

“The response we’ve had on our intercontinental destinations has been overwhelming and it is obvious that affordable fares were scarce before Norwegian entered the market. This makes it even more enjoyable to add more destinations to our route map of more than 100 destinations. We are looking forward to welcoming new and returning customers on our new routes between London Gatwick and the Caribbean,” said Norwegian’s Chief Commercial Officer Thomas Ramdahl.

“We are also adding more weekly flights between New York and London Gatwick, and Los Angeles and London Gatwick because of the great response. Pula in Croatia is also a new destination from London Gatwick this summer,” he added.

Norwegian has a long-haul and a short-haul base for cabin crew and pilots at London Gatwick. The routes across the Atlantic will be operated by the Gatwick-based crew and Norwegian’s US-based crew.

An excellent starting point for island hopping in the Caribbean
Norwegian’s new Caribbean destination from Gatwick will be popular among sun- and adventure seekers; Puerto Rico is an excellent starting point for island hopping. The introductory fare from London Gatwick to Puerto Rico is £269 one way.

Today, Norwegian celebrated its inaugural flight from Birmingham Airport to Madrid; the first of three new Spanish destinations set to launch this summer from the airport. “Today is a double celebration – we’re celebrating the launch of direct flights to Madrid and welcoming Norwegian to Birmingham Airport,” said David Winstanley, Chief Operating Officer at Birmingham Airport.

The first scheduled service from the Spanish capital, which will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, was greeted in Birmingham today with a water-arch salute upon arrival, quickly followed by the launch of flights to Malaga on Monday 30^th March.

The new service to Malaga will operate three times a week on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays and represents the second of three new Spanish routes from Birmingham to be served by Norwegian. The third and final service to Barcelona is set to commence on the 1^st of June, departing on Mondays and Fridays.

Travelore News: Norwegian’s Low-Cost Service To The U.S. Takes Off From London Gatwick

This week Norwegian celebrates its first ever flights between London Gatwick and the U.S. On Wednesday afternoon, the first flight between London Gatwick and Los Angeles took off, while Norwegian’s first flight between London and New York took off this evening. Friday afternoon, the airline celebrates its inaugural flight to Fort Lauderdale. All the flights are almost full.

Following its long-haul success with non-stop service between Scandinavia and the U.S and Scandinavia and Asia, Norwegian’s long-haul adventure is now taking off in the UK.

The new routes have been very well received both by Brits and Americans; almost all of the 291 seats on Norwegian’s 787 Dreamliner have been booked on all the inaugural flights between London Gatwick and the three U.S. cities Los Angeles, New York and Fort Lauderdale.

”We are very happy to celebrate the first ever flights between the UK and the US. The travelling public deserves affordable fares and flexible tickets across the Atlantic. The company is planning to expand its long-haul fleet with even more 787 Dreamliners.

Norwegian established its first UK base at Gatwick in May 2013. During the first quarter of 2014, Norwegian had a market share of 10 percent at London Gatwick Airport. Today, the company operates 375 weekly flights and 33 routes to and from the airport.

Norwegian Launches New Low Cost Routes From London Gatwick To New York, Los Angeles And Fort Lauderdale

Norwegian launches three new long-haul routes between London Gatwick and New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) in summer 2014. Norwegian also launches five new European routes and increases frequencies on existing ones.

Norwegian continues its international expansion as it takes delivery of more 787 Dreamliners. It now adds London Gatwick to its intercontinental route map after experiencing great success with its new European routes from Gatwick launched earlier this year.

“There’s great demand for high quality flights at a low fare between the UK and the U.S., particularly to and from London Gatwick, where no other airline currently offers these routes. We are looking forward to welcoming many new customers on board our brand new aircraft. Launching long-haul routes between London Gatwick and the United States is also an important part of our strategy to expand internationally and get a stronger foothold in markets outside Scandinavia,” said Norwegian’s CEO Bjørn Kjos.

Five new European destinationsIn addition to the new long-haul routes, Norwegian also adds five new European destinations from London Gatwick. New destinations as of next spring and summer are: Santorini, Corfu, Sicily (Catania), Cyprus and Budapest. Norwegian also adds more frequencies to existing destinations Malaga, Ibiza, Split, Dubrovnik, Majorca, Faro, Tenerife, Copenhagen and Barcelona.

Norwegian currently offers 320 weekly flights and 25 routes from London Gatwick.

Tickets to the new destinations will be available for sale today October 17 at www.norwegian.com.

Norwegian will operate one weekly flight between London (LGW) and Corfu (CFU) – on Saturdays. The introductory fare is £29.90 one way.
