'Technical Issues' Ground American Airlines flights In Dallas, Chicago, Miami

American Airlines has stopped flights heading to Dallas, Chicago and Miami because of a computer-systems problem


Airline spokesman Casey Norton said Thursday that the outage began around 11 a.m. CDT.


Norton says the airline doesn't know the cause of the problem but is working to fix it.

American Airlines sent Action News the following statement:

We're working to resolve technical issues impacting several airports as quickly as possible. We will provide updates and more information as they become available. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.

The Federal Aviation Administration says American planes destined for Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, O'Hare Airport in Chicago and Miami International Airport are being held on the ground.
