Travelore News: United To Launch San Francisco-Tel Aviv Flights

SECOND CALIFORNIA CITY TO CONNECT NONSTOP TO ISRAEL

United Airlines has announced it will add three nonstop roundtrip flights a week between San Francisco and Tel Aviv, says Uri Steinberg, Israel Tourism Commissioner for North America.

The San Francisco flights will commence on April 1, 2016, utilizing the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.  The new route will bring the airline's weekly total of flights connecting the U.S. and Israel to 20 -- the airline already operates two daily nonstop roundtrip flights from New York to Tel Aviv. EL AL, Israel's national carrier, recently added three flights a week from Boston to Tel Aviv, in addition to its multiple flights from both New York's JFK and Newark-Liberty airports, and from Los Angeles. Delta Airlines also operates a daily flight from New York to Israel, and US Airways flies daily from Philadelphia to Tel Aviv.

"After the New York metropolitan area, California is Israel tourism's #2 American market," Steinberg continued, "and San Francisco International Airport is ideally located not only for tourists but also for the vast amount of business travelers who literally commute between Silicon Valley and Israel's own high-tech centers."
