- Restoration Plans for Historic Route Around Santo Domingo’s Colonial City | The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) presented a master plan to renovate and preserve the touristic route surrounding the Colonial City, a historic pocket located within the capital of Santo Domingo. Improvements will include the restoration and preservation of the historic wall that runs through the city, connecting it to the city’s touristic route and allowing visitors to see how the city operated during the colonial era.
