Travelore News: Singapore Airlines Brings First Class To London Gatwick In 2027

Singapore Airlines is elevating its service at London Gatwick, officially bringing its highly sought-after First Class product to the airport for the first time starting in October 2027. This move provides premium travelers with even more luxurious options for the popular London to Singapore route.

The Boeing 777-300ER Upgrade

Beginning October 1, 2027, the airline will transition one of its two daily flights on the London Gatwick (LGW) route from the Airbus A350 Long Haul to the four-class Boeing 777-300ER. The aircraft upgrade will debut on flight SQ312 departing from Singapore (SIN), with the return leg, SQ309, departing from Gatwick on October 2, 2027.

This aircraft swap introduces a 4-seat First Class cabin to Gatwick. The 777-300ER also brings increased capacity across other premium cabins, offering 48 Business Class seats (an increase of six) and 28 Premium Economy seats (an increase of four). In total, this adds 28 First Class seats per week in each direction for the Gatwick route.

Premium Perks: The Private Room and Book the Cook

Passengers flying out of Singapore in First Class on SQ312 will have access to the airline's ultra-exclusive The Private Room lounge at Changi Airport. Additionally, First Class passengers departing from Gatwick will be able to utilize Singapore Airlines' renowned "Book the Cook" service, allowing them to pre-order gourmet meals up to 24 hours before their flight.

Booking Your First Class Seat

For travelers looking to lock in this premium experience, the flights are already available within the airline's 355-day booking window. If you are looking to redeem miles, a one-way Saver award ticket between London and Singapore will cost 148,000 KrisFlyer miles. Cash fares are currently matching the airline's Heathrow First Class pricing, coming in at approximately S$15,275 one-way.

The introduction of the 777-300ER to Gatwick means Singapore Airlines will offer up to 20 First Class and Suites seats per day across its London operations (including Heathrow) by late 2027. Whether you are paying cash or redeeming hard-earned miles, this expansion is a major win for London-bound travelers seeking top-tier comfort.
