Come next summer, there will be a new way to discover Ireland’s stunning landscapes—one that doesn’t include navigating roundabout after roundabout. Belmond has beenteasing their plans for the Grand Hiberian luxury train for a while now, but they’ve just announced that travelers can now reserve a ticket for one of three types of trips, all of which will take to the rails in August 2016.
Given the ticket prices, these journeys are more than a way to get from Point A to Point B. Belmond—a hotel and leisure company at its core—has pulled the best of their hospitality reputation into the rail-trip you won’t likely forget.
The two-night Realm of Giants trip is the shortest and least expensive of the three, coming in at $3,450 per ticket. The journey starts in Dublin and take riders through Belfast and Portrush before returning back to the country’s capital.
The Legends and Loughs ride will take riders from Dublin through the highlights of Southern Ireland (Cork, Killarney, Galway, and Westport). The four-night trip costs $5,800.
And if you’re looking to get a full tour of The Emerald Isle, The Grand Tour of Ireland is your best bet—riders will visit all of the mentioned destinations plus Belfast. The six-night jaunt will put you back $8,500 per person.
So what are you getting in return for that hefty train ticket? The luxury train will feature 20 sleeper cabins named after Irish counties with décor to match, two restaurant cars featuring local delicacies, and a saloon-inspired Observation Bar Car.
Forty guests will also get to partake Belmond-planned excursions—think exploring ancient castles, guided tours through The Titanic Experience, private whisky tastings, fishing at the Lakes of Killarney, and shopping at the various city markets. Back onboard the train, the Observation Bar Car will host live music, craft sessions, and storytellers for riders.
