JetBlue Unveils 'BlueFirst': Airline's New Domestic First Class Experience
In one of its biggest strategic shifts in years, JetBlue Airways has officially announced BlueFirst—a brand-new domestic first-class product coming to aircraft that do not feature its flagship, lie-flat Mint suites.
Long famous for offering a single economy cabin with extra legroom and complimentary Wi-Fi, JetBlue is officially stepping into traditional domestic first class to compete head-to-head with legacy carriers like Delta, United, and American.
JetBlue will begin retrofitting non-Mint aircraft with the new BlueFirst recliner cabin later this year.
What to Expect from BlueFirst
Designed specifically for domestic and short-haul regional routes across JetBlue's fleet (including Airbus A220s, A320s, and A321s without Mint), the BlueFirst cabin will deliver a conventional premium recliner experience:

A Major Revamp to JetBlue's Fare System

Instead of choosing between Blue Basic, Blue, and Blue Extra, travelers will now select an experience cabin (Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst, or Mint) and then pick a flexibility tier:
- Base (Unbundled/Basic): The lowest fare, which does not include advance seat selection and incurs change/cancel fees. Interestingly, JetBlue is expanding "Base" fares even into EvenMore and BlueFirst cabins!
- Standard: Includes free seat selection, no change/cancel fees (returns a travel credit upon cancellation), and full TrueBlue point earnings.
- Flex: Includes all Standard perks plus full refunds back to the original form of payment.
