Air Canada Launches $9 City Shuttle Between Downtown Montréal And Montréal-Trudeau International Airport

Navigating the journey between downtown Montréal and Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) just got significantly easier—and much cheaper. Air Canada has officially launched the new Air Canada City Shuttle, a premium motorcoach service developed through an expanded partnership with The Landline Company.

Starting today, travelers can hop on a direct shuttle connecting the heart of the city at the Palais des congrès de Montréal directly to YUL for an incredibly reasonable $9 one way (plus taxes). Even better, children under 15 travel entirely free when accompanied by a ticketed adult.

Bypassing the Traffic: The Logistics

Designed to alleviate the headache of airport traffic and taxi queues, the shuttle utilizes dedicated high-occupancy vehicle lanes and an expedited, private airport entrance. Air Canada estimates this will save passengers up to 25 minutes during peak busy periods compared to standard airport access routes.

Here is a breakdown of how the schedule works for the 37 daily roundtrips:

Direction Peak Schedule (Every 15 Min) Regular Schedule (Every 30 Min)
Downtown to YUL
(Departs from Palais des congrès)
4:45 a.m. – 6:30 a.m. 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
YUL to Downtown
(Departs from Departures Door 7)
5:15 a.m. – 6:45 a.m. 6:45 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

A Premium Onboard Experience

This isn't your average public transit bus. The service is operated by Quebec-based Autobus Galland using state-of-the-art motorcoaches manufactured locally in Quebec by Prevost. Passengers can expect a genuinely comfortable ride designed for travelers.

  • Premium Seating: 48 spacious, reclining leather seats with generous extra legroom.

  • Connectivity: Power outlets at every seat to keep devices charged before a flight.

  • Convenience: An onboard lavatory and a very generous baggage policy (up to two checked bags and a carry-on per passenger without extra shuttle fees).

  • Dedicated Waiting Area: A designated lounge area at the Palais des congrès where travelers can relax before boarding.

What You Need to Know Before You Book

While this service is incredibly convenient, there are a few important rules to keep in mind:

Exclusive Eligibility: The Air Canada City Shuttle is available exclusively to passengers traveling on an Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, or Air Canada Express flight.

Additionally, the shuttle is considered a standalone product. It must be booked separately from your airfare via Landline’s dedicated Montréal booking platform or at the self-service kiosks located at both the Palais des congrès and YUL. Tickets are non-refundable, and if you need to make changes, you will have to do so directly through Landline rather than through Air Canada reservations.

With its unbeatable price point, high frequency, and premium comfort, the Air Canada City Shuttle is poised to become the go-to transit option for convention-goers, business travelers, and locals alike looking for a stress-free start to their journey.
