While O'Hare leads the globe in total aircraft movements, daily operations remain constrained by the FAA’s flight caps (limiting O'Hare to 2,708 daily flights due to ongoing terminal construction and gate congestion).
United’s route selection maximizes the value of each gate slot. Rather than chasing only high-density point-to-point trunk routes, the carrier is utilizing regional feeds to funnel passengers from underserved secondary cities straight through Chicago and onward to international destinations in Europe and Asia.
