Travelore News: Iconic Carnegie Deli Returning To Midtown Manhattan This Fall

Nearly a decade after closing its legendary Seventh Avenue doors, New York City’s beloved Carnegie Deli is officially returning to Midtown Manhattan this autumn.

The iconic Jewish deli institution—famous for its sky-high, overstuffed pastrami and corned beef sandwiches—is setting up shop on Seventh Avenue between West 53rd and 54th Streets, just one block south of its historic original home.

What to Expect at the New Midtown Location

  • The Signature Sandwiches: Fans can expect the classic, mountain-high hot pastrami, corned beef, and brisket sandwiches served on fresh rye bread with spicy brown mustard and house-cured pickles.
  • Traditional Deli Classics: The menu will feature timeless favorites, including homemade matzo ball soup, knishes, potato latkes with applesauce, and hearty blintzes.
  • Legendary New York Cheesecake: Carnegie’s world-renowned, dense, and creamy New York-style cheesecake will be served by the giant slice and available for whole cake purchase.
  • Modern Touches with Heritage Nostalgia: While the new space features updated dining amenities and grab-and-go ordering, it will proudly showcase historic photos, Broadway memorabilia, and vintage signage paying homage to its 1937 origins.
