After months of operating under a limited-service model, the popular Capital One Lounge at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) has officially reopened for full-service operations as of September 18, 2026.
Back in June, the lounge scaled back its offerings to complete essential infrastructure and ventilation upgrades. The primary goal of these renovations was to improve temperature consistency and ensure a comfortable environment for guests year-round.
Travelers familiar with the space will be pleased to know that the physical design and aesthetic of the lounge remain unchanged. Instead, the improvements were strictly functional behind-the-scenes enhancements. With normal operations restored, eligible cardholders and guests can once again enjoy the premium hospitality the lounge is known for.
What to Expect Upon Your Return
Located just beyond TSA PreCheck between the East and West security checkpoints on the Ticketing Level, the lounge is back to offering its complete lineup of luxurious amenities. Guests can once again take advantage of:
- Freshly Prepared Dining: A full food and beverage menu featuring local ingredients, along with convenient grab-and-go options for those rushing to their gates.
- Relaxation and Productivity: Comfortable working spaces with high-speed WiFi, alongside quiet areas designed to help you recharge before your flight.
The lounge is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Reservations are not required; you simply need to present your boarding pass with a confirmed seat assignment at reception.
If you are flying through Dulles soon, the fully restored Capital One Lounge is ready to once again serve as a modern oasis amid the hustle and bustle of the airport.
